The Mini Tummy Tuck

In America, abdominoplasty is one of the most desired cosmetic surgeries among both men and women.

For many, the surgery gives them the confidence they are lacking and need in order to feel comfortable with their body image.

An Advancement in Cosmetic Surgery

New York Reconstructive surgeon, Gerald H. Pitman has begun performing what he calls the lower abdominoplasty or the “mini tummy tuck” on patients who want to regain the stomach that they once had in their youth.

Other surgeons have followed in Dr. Pitman’s footsteps and the lower tummy tuck is becoming one of the most desirable procedures, typically in conjunction with the traditional abdominoplasty.

How the Procedure Works

During the procedure, the skin and the attached fat are removed in the lower stomach area close to the bikini line.

The operation is said to improve the vitality of the stomach, giving it a more “youthful” appearance.

Patients report that the pain is minimal and only a local anesthesia is used.

Those who undergo the operation are often sent home no more than five days after surgery.
