Liposuction To Prevent Sweating
Doctors have found that a liposuction technique can be used to treat those who suffer from the embarrassment of sweating in public on a daily basis.
A new study proves that people experiencing excessive sweating may find relief through this minimally invasive procedure.
Researchers Conduct Study
Researchers from the Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology conducted a study that analyzed how to treat those with sweating problems.
The condition when over-sweating occurs is known as axillary hyperhidrosis and according to doctors can cause serious emotional and social problems for those living with it.
Dr. Falk G. Bechara led the study where he treated 51 patients using a form of liposuction known as "suction curettage".
Suction Curettage
This liposuction technique removes the sweat glands from the armpit area.
During the procedure, a cannula is inserted under the skin the sweat glands and surrounding pockets of fat are suctioned out to prevent sweating from occurring after the operation.
After the treatment, Dr. Bechara observed a 63 percent improvement in the quality of life of his patients, while they reported a 75 percent decrease in the amount of sweat they produced after surgery.
