Demi Moore Sets the Bar For Knee Liposuction
Knees are one of the most difficult locations on the body for women to lose fat. Just a couple of years ago, Demi Moore underwent knee plastic surgery and some may contend that she helped to set the bar for plastic surgery on the knees. Since Demi Moore had plastic surgery on her knees, women have more commonly requested that plastic surgeons to improve the appearance of their knees. Weather through liposuction or simply excision of excess knee skin, plastic surgery on the knees has been a hit. Indeed, liposuction will remove unwanted fat and skin excision will take away sagging skin. But what is at the root of fat on women's knees?
Lifestyle Habit or Evolution
Some say its evolution. Men tend to store weight in their stomachs. Women tend to store fat in their knees, hips and thighs. Unfortunately, cardiovascular exercise is the only traditional means to lose weight. Yet, cardiovascular exercise does not selectively burn fat in specific troublesome areas. Cardiovascular exercise burns fat all over the body. Knees cannot be the specific target of cardiovascular exercise. In terms of saggy skin, cardiovascular exercise cannot assist. Instead, cardiovascular exercise may add to saggy skin when fat is lost.
Removing Knee Fat Through Exercise?
Exercise phsiologists contend that it makes sense to reduce caloric intake and target select muscles with weight building exercises to improve the appearance of the knees. Muscle weight training exercises that are valuable for the improvement of the knees include: leg press, leg extension, leg curl, and squats. Of course, muscle building makes sense for excess skin on the knees- more muscle creates the need for skin greater coverage. Yet, not all women can exercise their legs and some women cannot achieve results they would like to see despite attempts at muscle building exercises. So, why not consider liposuction on the knees or plastic surgery to remove excess skin?
Selecting the Right Knee Liposuction Doctor
The important consideration in treating the knees through plastic surgery is in the selection of the plastic surgeon for the procedure. Not all plastic surgeons have experience with liposuction or skin excision on the knees. Skin excision is common practice in a variety of procedures that board certified plastic surgeons perform. Yet, there is not formal training available for knee plastic surgery. There are, however, continuing education classes that plastic surgeons may participate in to learn more about treating small bodily areas through liposuction.
Are you considering liposuction? Find a board certified plastic surgeon in your area to discuss your options.
