Advances Made in Liposuction
A new procedure called Vaser Lipo Selection improves the results of liposuction. In this procedure, Ultrasonic waves break up and liquefy unwanted fat deposits, which are then massaged and suctioned out, leaving nerves, blood vessels, and connective tissues intact.
Vaser Lipo Selection Versus Traditional Lipo
The Vaser machine is more efficient and applies sound energy to the body. The area to be shaped is injected with a benign saline solution to help numb the area and shrink blood vessels. This reduces blood loss and minimizes bruising.
After the procedure is over, there is less swelling, less bruising, and less pain than when traditional technology is used.
The new procedure also leaves the skin tighter, smoother and with fewer ripples.
Recovery
Like any procedure, Vaser Lipo Selection requires a period of recovery. Usually, regular daily functions can be resumed within a day or two. Patients can usually return to work within three to five days.
Recovering Vaser patients are required to wear a sort of girdle for four to six weeks to help tighten and contour the skin.
Results
Many people are shocked to learn that the positive results of liposuction are not usually visible immediately. Your body takes time to recover and regain its shape. Most people start seeing the fruits of the procedure after about 10 days. The final outcome is typically not obvious until about six months after the procedure.
Liposuction results are long-lasting because fat storage cells are removed. Even if the patient gains weight after the procedure, the area treated with liposuction will not be able to store as much fat so the body will fill out more evenly.
